Holy CARP! Do they fight as good in cold water?

They do slow down as the water gets colder. This one did not fight very hard but that created a challenge try to net it. It still had plenty of energy left and would power away every time I got it close to the net. A fellow carper came over and gave me a hand with the net.
My personal experience is that male carp weighing just below 20 lbs caught around the time that they spawn can really give you a go. Also when you have nice deep water at around 20 to 25 deg. C , with a good O2 level you will find that carp fight very hard and do not want to quit.
