Im confused... Why do you hate good quality gear? Wouldnt it be the opposite? Why not hate cheap gear that breaks? Steelhead are really strong fish that can snap cheap rods and bugger up cheap reels so if you catch alot of steelhead its wise to invest in gear that can take the beating these fish put out. Ive had a steelhead strip the clicker gear on a VERY CHEAP fly reel of mine so now line just comes out freely like a pin sort of lol

It should be noted however that generous donors made the event a great outing for many, to my mind it warrants some free advertising at the very least.

Not as much advertising exposure as KP and Simms are getting with this thread...
