St. Croix?

Hey guys I'm looking at St croix fly fishing rods and just wondering if they are good or not. They seem like a good price point to buy for my mom for christmas. Shes just getting into fly fishing.

Comments, past experience, etc is all welcome.

I own a couple of there fly Rods and they work great and I own rods from so of the bigger fly rod company's as well like sage and scott st croix is right up there in my eyes

st croix makes a great product, and if you get the higher end models, a great warranty as well, i haven't used their fly rods, but have seen em in action, i own a couple SC spinning, very happy with them

Own 2 and enjoy the quality to price relationship.Great warranty at the Imperial level .Will be a little slower action relative to other (more expensive)rods ,however I am starting to disregard the fast action light powerful "Holy Grail" $6-$800 hype .TFO and ECHO come to mind also but .....

I went to a fly shop yesterday and i bought my mom a Greyon's 8 wt rod. It seems really good and the guy recommended it. 160$

I wish I could say something good about the rod but unfortunately its never seen a fish. Well hasnt seen any fish other than Brown Trout parr.....
