hey Red, your inbox is full.
sounds exciting. please let me know what gear we would need other than obvious rod reel, and baits.
Will it be necessary to wear a float suit ? Are we going to need huts ? Do you have an auger to share? Also, please pm the lake once it's been decided. What time you guys planning to head up ?
Thanks. bimmer

If you own a float suit it would be a good idea to wear it while ice fishing but I don't own one. If I make it up I have an 8in hand auger people can use...if you can turn it ;-)

If its laker fishing you will need one or two rods with a capacity of 150' of line, I prefer having extra line incase I end up losing some line. 150 yds is what I have on my reels. For bait you will need 4" minnows, spoons, jigs, weights and if you are setting up a dead stick rig bring some sort of rod holder to stop your combo from flying through the hole.

Walleye fishing you need one or two rods and 50'-100' of line is plenty. 4" minnows are good and having some smaller ones in the mix is good too. For bait its similar to lakers, jigs & spoons.

ok looks like some guys wanna do simcoe lakers some wanna do kawartha walleye im open for either lol Its also not 100% the laker grounds will be safe but there is a good chance it will and i can get daily reports on ice conditions.

and yes i have an auger but not to sound like a prick but i would rather not have 100 holes ppunched with my auger in a day it will be dull by the end of the day lol , if anyone has there own auger please bring it so the wear and tear is shared

So hows this sound, we'll do simcoe for lakers but if there is only say 2 inches of black ice out there on thursday night we'll hit up some eyes? sorry for the flip floping im just trying figure out what exactly everyone wants to go for and it sounds like simcoe lakers are taking the cake.

inbox is empty now lol always wear a floater suit if you have one it will keep you warmer than a jacket! pop up hut is always nice to have bring it if you have one. and it looks like we are gonna do simcoe lakers if ice conditions allow and kawartha walleye will be our backup plan,

I just got a few ice reports on simcoe and it looks like were doing lakers!! Still have 6 inches and the warmup is just about done and all the water ( a fair amount from what I was told) that is sitting on top is just going to freeze up and strengthen the ice!! Please pm me for details on where we are meeting and what time.. Ive also got room for one more in my truck for anyone who wants to come but needs a ride. So far its just me and fishing bimmer going up in it but ive got room for one more and more than enough gear

I was on shanty bay today, ice was a bit scary but should be better after the temp drop. More Lakers that whities generally. I got one around 12 lbs
