not too sure I am going to find out tomorrow as well. a week ago there was a marked sled trail out from Foots bay, but since then we got rain and 8 inch of snow. I how there is min slush, I only have a 2wheel drive 200cc ATV, just got done slapping the chains on it 3 hours ago. Have a 4x4 single person hut to take out tomorrow, and a 8x6 hut to take out as well.
I'm sure if you ventured up yesterday you found out for yourself. About 12" of snow over 5" of water. Most ATV's even with chains just bottomed out. The best things to get around on were snowshoes, but that would be a little hard to pull your huts. We walked around quite easily, but it was really messy once you got some holes inthe ice. Good news is it's -20 this morning and things should be stiffiining up for the weekend

If we get some cold nights it will stiffen up but as of now its a sh** show out there.
there is good 8 to 10 inch of ice under then slush, so If anyone is planning a trip up in teh next few days, its SLEDS or walking out unless your ATV has Tracks.
Oh and I fished from 130 till 345 today in 50ish FOW, had 2 hits and caught one 16 or 17 inch fish, let it go. all on a white bodied and pink heads Buck-tail jig tipped with some minnow head or tail.

got out today and not fun at all still 5 or 6 inch of water on the ice covered with 12inch of snow. got My little hut out 300 feet before I had enough. I was driving a Polaris Ranger 500 and I got high centered in teh 2nd slush hole. my cousins got out to the second point about 1.5 miles out but it took them 2 hours. with 2 MXZ sleds and my cousins 1000CC artic cat 4x4 ATV but it has 14 inch of clearance. oh also an ATV with tracks was there as well. But Any normal ATV or UTV was not going anywhere, I could see 4 that must of went out at first light this morning TRYING to get back in. most where not happy trying to get back to shore.

Yes I got out on Friday then on Sunday again, was Friday ever a mess, I ended up two times in the day helping out a guy in a beast of an argo, nice guy, trying to help out people get out onto the ice to fish, but he even got stuck in slush, which he hadn't done in the 8 years he said going out in that. We got a group of us to help him push that thing out of the deep slush pockets he got into, good workout let me tell you lol. Fishing was ok, a little better on Sunday, and walking was better Sunday.

one small one about 13inch had what was left of a cisco in its mouth 4 inch worth of cisco.
From what I have been told there is still deep slush in places on Joe, some places knee deep slush, and others no slush at all, If I have a good Sled I would take a run around and see where the bad spots where, but I do not have a good Sled.

Hi,
Does anyone have an update on the ice conditions on Lake Joseph or any other tips for catching trouts around Toronto (200 Kms). We are planning on going towards Lake Joseph but it's around 200 kms north of Toronto and we don't wanna end up having to go back since there is no ice or it's bad.
Thanks a lot in advance,
Neo

Lakes froze good for ATV and Sleds, off chown there is 5 inch of black ice under + or - 8 inch white refroze, there is however a slush pocket under the first 4 inch of white ice, This is why I am saying Sleds and ATVs ONLY.
I got 7 small Lake trout today, all jigging not a hit on my still line, and they only wanted Gold Spoons today, Tryed other (glow in the dark cleo, silver willims, green and yellow buckshot) not a hit, but the gold spoon was hot.
