Great thread.

When I am done this round of shifts I will make time to post up some flies I have been tying. Most are pretty standard or collabs of a few things I've seen. I am finally getting out to try my fly rod this saturday. so I've been tying a few "icy buggers" (white hackle/marabou, silver bead, pink/chartreuse/purple crystal chenille) to try out along with the more typical buggers and egg/sucker patterns.

Please be open water.

Inspired by Chase's colour scheme I tied a nymph. I am planning on adding the "Casual Dress" Nymph in the future but need a few more tries before I get good enough to post.

Thread: Uni-Thread 6/0 - Black (Green would be better)
Hook: White River size 10 nymph hook (got at BPS)

Tail: Green Hackle Fibers - Length of the hook shank
Abdomen: Green tubing (don't know the name or size, got it in a kit) - 2/3 of the hook shank
Thorax: Died Green Hare's Ear Dubbing - 1/3 of the hook shank
Wing Case: Peacock Hearl
Legs: Green Hackle cut to length of hook gap

The head's a little messed up but I don't think it's too big of a deal.

See...the more you tie, the better the outcome...GOOD JOB, you're getting there for sure.
Try some deer or pheasant tail for the wing case (tie it in behind the thorax...hares ear + polar dub...pull pheasant quills forward and tie off)

Some goto articulated streamers. Sorry, pics aren't the greatest. You can find recipes for most of these flies online, just google the names.

I can only imagine how tempting that must look swung in the current, looks hot. A thing of beauty... Steve Miller taught me everything's better when wet... he wasn't joking.
