Hello fellow fisherpeople,

I was planning on going fishing on the predicted beautiful Saturday coming up and I was wondering which venue I should go to; Bluffer's Park or the Rouge River? Does anyone know the ice conditions at either place? Would it be too icy at Bluffers or no? Any thoughts would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks , G

Some parts of Bluffs has still ice. but mostly open water. it is starting to get busy with a few small boats already on the water. will be hitting a little west for a change.

Bluffs is a good choice.  If you cast off the rocks you can catch spring browns if the conditions are good.  If you fish the marinas you can also catch pike this time of year, but I believe they close on the 31st.

will close march 31 ... when it's going to open. i'm not too sure. 2nd Saturda or May? Just trying to get some pre-spawn fatties...then back to drifting for trout.

yes. when you're trying to make sweet sweet love...the last thing you want is someone to dangle a slab of baby back ribs in your face...and on top of that...it's a fake baby back ribs...

Was there today. Lot's of anglers. Was fishing for pike for a good 1 and half hours until I spotted 2 browns swimming back and forth. Changed set up for quite a while but the closest I got was a miss on a berkley worm. As soon as the brown got close to the bank after it missed...it turned around and never returned.

I can't imagine the matting of two pike as sweet, sounds angry to me
