I will be adding advertising banners to the forum in the next few days. I don't expect anyone to get excited about that news, but it is needed to help us with the hosting costs as the traffic grows. 

 

Here are the details:

 

Active members with over 250 posts, who call this place home will not see any advertising. Registered members will only see limited amount of ads (header/footer). The majority of ads will be shown to one time visitors to the forum, who never register, and usually never come back, finding us through google searches.

I always wondered what the point was in making a forum, spending the money on the domain and everything related and not making any $. This makes sense to me and its courteous that the ad placement will not often be seen by the regular users.

I run adblocker too but for sites I like to support, OFF for example I'll unblock the page so that they can make some revenue, the ads really aren't a big deal and the fact that I'm helping the site makes it all the better .

When they are fishing ads, I don't mind at all. It also makes sense. Hosting can cost a lot of money.
