Great tips and ideas above.
If you're looking for something simple that will catch numbers I would go with plain jigs and small to mid-sized plastic trailers (2-4"). Grubs are an all-time favourine of mine. Great colours for grubs (and bass lures in general) are white, chartreuse, brown pumpkin, red, and green. Grab an assortment of 1/8, 1/4, and 3/8 oz jigs (don't worry too much about colour) and have at 'er. If the bass aren't biting a jig and grub combo you can just throw the grub on a plain hook, be a little patient on the drop and retieve, and you'll probably have good luck. I'm also a big fan of spoons and in-line spinners because they are simple to use, allow you to cover a lot of water, and catch a lot of fish. If you're going to use crankbaits I would recommend the stubbier fat bodied cranks just because I like their action more.
As for pike, I find upsizing your spoons and in-line spinners to be effective. Soft plastics are good too but you might go through a lot of them haha. If you are comfortable using topwater baits for bass you can use them for pike too. Not as high a hookup to strike ratio as the other baits I mentioned but great fun to watch. Likewise, if you get used to using weightless tubes for bass, try it for pike. Get some big tubes (at least 4") and twitch them at the surface.
As rich pointed out through, if you're simply looking to get some fish, live worms won't let you down. Double hook them through the middle and then do whatever the hell you want after that because they're bass magnets haha.
Cheers and good luck!
