my 13'6 is now a 13', luckily the guides are pretty close together and I only broke off the first 2 inches so I just cut it back to the second guide and sanded it down..

 

I dont know if its gonna work properly but im going tomorrow,

 

ontop of that I lost a nice steelhead because of the centerpin (or rather because of my lack of ability with it)

 

 

needless to say, I was darn frustrated.. but im gonna give it another try, first rod I ever broke too

take it into any tackle shop, they'll be able to repair it for you

The company will likely exchange the top section for you...give it a shot man...

i know people had guides repaired but I didn't realize they could do that

 

il take it to le barons or jbs fishing depot and see what they say, unless anyone has anywhere they'd recommend 

 

i saw a streamside tranquility 13' for 89.99 today, so if it costs close to that to repair it I may just buy a new one eventually and use this for now

for a small section like that, shouldn't be more than $20.  the tranq's are nice rods, i have a streamside steelhead rod, love it

can you still fish with a centerpin reel on a spinning rod? Its a 9'6 UL Browning steelhead rod, just wondering if I buy a centerpin I can comfortably use it on my current rod

thanks, i'll definitely get it fixed if its only 20 bucks! Used it today and it worked pretty well, I want my 6 inches back though

It's too late for the OP, but if you break an inch or 2 off the tip, you can buy a slightly bigger 'top eye' and glue it to the rod tip. You should rough up the area to be glued with some fine sandpaper.

what rod are you using? do you still have warranty for it? le barons will fix them if they also sell the brand your rod is.

When the top guide on one of my steelhead rods got messed up, I bought a rod tip repair kit from Sail. It was cheap and it worked

all the housings: spinning, CP, baitcaster are universal. Guys pin the hard ice, and some guys spin the tribs. Up to you man. I put my pin on my 6'6 to see what it would look like for bass and eye fishing. haha.

I snapped the tip off my stream side, its like 4 inches shorter, havnt noticed any difference.

I've been rocking a quantum coldwater for 2 years and it's 6 inches less then original, never had too much of an issue, if anything I'm glad I put a new eye on the tip, it's a little bigger and doesn't ice up half as much as te original.

Celilo is one of the best rod I've had. Handled everything from bass pike carp and salmon. I had the 9'6" spinning.

would be awesome if i could just buy the top section, i like that option more than a repair tbh, thanks for the great info 

 

update: used it yesterday and it seemed to work well, still gonna try to grab a top section or get it fixed when I have some time, going out again tomorrow
