Very nice vid man. New to the fly myself what kind of reel is that. That thing looks awsome!!! Keep it up
Thanks! The reel is from a company called "PikeTrek"... I was actually using my pike setup only because my 6wt felt too lite last time I was on this lake.
Beauty!!! Love the beaver...
Haha thanks CC! Who doesn't?!

I wish! It's just from a company called PikeTrek who make Pike fly gear.. pretty sweet reel and rod though!
Sweet vid! What kind of fly is that?
It's an olive wooly bugger.... the bugger is the go-to pattern on this lake (as I'm sure is the case for many bodies of water )
Got out on the lake again today - decided to take a pic rather than a vid haha

Well maybe a dumb question, but still new to fly fishing. Are you just casting that wooly bugger and letting it sit out there? Or like a slow retrieval?

The lake had some chop, so the bugger was suspended underneath a strike-indicator. The chop gave it an undulating motion which seems to entice the fish! I've caught them in the same lake with a slow retrieve when the water is calm.
That is one fantastic looking rainbow.
Thanks, Dozer!
