Hi Guys and Gals.

This is my First post on this forum, so I'll let you know a few things about me here.

Name is Graham, and I spent half my life on the river banks back home in the UK when I was growing up, and also the best part of my adult life as well LOL :D.

I have not fished at all since I arrived in Canada about ten years ago, and after that very Loooong break, im about ready to wet a line again and just got some rods and tackle for me and my daughter.

Don't really know anything about fishing in Ontario, but I'm thinking about having the first few outings in search of a few nice sized Carp as that was one of the main species I fished for back home.

I'm living in North York and was wondering if there are any carp in this area, would also like to have a couple of days at Wilcox lake as that looks to be fairly close to me, are there any carp in this place?.

Anyway, better end it here, as I don't want to pee you all off by asking to much, but its nice meeting you all, and hope to see some of you on the bank some day for a chat and a mug of tea :).

...Cheer's...Graham....

Welcome Graham! You will have to contact Hammercarp for sure, there is going to be a cag fish in where you can learn a lot about carping in Ontario. The link is here: http://www.ontariofi...76-cag-fish-in/

Hello and welcome Graham. You are in for a fun time. Carp are just about everywhere here in southern Ontario. Most of them have never seen a hook.

Thanks for the welcomes Guys.

Just wondering, how many rods you Canadian carp boys put out at a time, back in the UK we could fish with two, and on some waters three were aloud but only if you had a second fishing permit?.

Also are there any restrictions on what type of particle baits you can use? have seen lots of posts were people are useing sweet corn, but I used a lot of chick peas, black eye beans and hemp? can these baits be used in Canadian waters or not?.

Thank's again...Graham...

don't think there's a limit on the number of rods you can have with you, just the number of lines you have in the water

i have never really targeted carp, have caught them while fishing other species, but there are tons to be had

Are you shore fishing for fishing from a boat? I fish from the shore, so 2 rods is the most cause that's all I can hold! :D

Hi Graham,

I'm also new here and I'm living in North York as well :).

Know almost nothing about fishing here but I'm going explore unlimited fishing opportunities here.

Good luck in your endeavours and welcome back to fishing !

Thank's for the info about number of rods guys :).

I think im going to give float fishing a try to start off, as I picked up a Salmon/Steelhead rod a couple of weeks ago that has a really fast tip, it's a bit like a shorter version of what I used to use back home for float fishing, so should be ok for a few carp, (I hope ;) ).
