I vowed never to miss this but due to work, I just can't make it this saturday. It's fun to watch the little ones learn as much as they could. Remember last year one 5yr old boasts to his friends about the bass he caught (which looks like a goby btw). And Blair was there too. Ok guy imo.

Introduce a friend to fishing!

Ontario Family Fishing Events is a province-wide opportunity for Canadian residents to fish Ontario waters without the otherwise mandatory fishing version outdoors card. The Ontario Government designates two periods throughout the year as license-free, February 16-18, 2013 (12:01 a.m. Saturday to 11:59 p.m. Monday) and July 6-14, 2013 (12:01 a.m. Saturday to 11:59 p.m. Sunday). During all other time periods, Canadian residents between the ages of 18 and 64 years must purchase a valid fishing license to legally fish in Ontario.

There has never been a better time to introduce a friend to fishing!

Any reason as to why the full list of events isn't shared? Only those 3?

Here's the full list:

High Park, Grenadier Pond: Saturday, July 6, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Unionville: Toogood Pond: Saturday, July 6, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Darlington Provincial Park: Saturday, July 6, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Newmarket: Fairy Lake: Sunday, July 7, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Toronto Islands: Sunday July 7, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Pickering: Progress Park at Frenchman's Bay: Saturday, July 13, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Meadowvale: Lake Aquitaine Park: Saturday, July 13, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Pefferlaw: Pefferlaw River: Saturday, July 13, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Was at the Toogood Pond one today. Disappointed to say the least.

Yes only the 3 events in Toronto in which TUFA and its partners were involved were listed.

In the media posting the other events were listed....did you read that post?

TUFA promotes what its involved in not every event going on in Ontario during National Fishing Week.

the Catch Fishing site and MNR sites listed the other events for which we are not involved in or have much knowledge of as they are outside Toronto.

Sorry if you missed an event...we were trying to promote the ones we were and are involved in...just trying to get the word out.

Its very obvious that anglers are unaware of the yearly family fishing events in their areas...especially by the support shown in the number of anglers from fishing forums.

Some wonderful members of this forum volunteered for the Grenadier Pond and Toronto Islands Family Fishing Days.

The events were a great success.
