The best place has always been Angling Specialties.  Unfortunately they are not downtown.  But they have or can get the stuff, and build rods themselves, so they know what they are talking about and give good advice.  I would suggest George at the Hiway 7 store in Concord.  Mention my name (Greg) if you go there.

Hook Line and Sinker and Kinsgway Tackle both in Guelph sell some stuff, both pretty far from you. They can probably ship though or you can order off mudhole.com.

ya, i usually use mudhole while in the states.

but ive gotten sick of importing stuff in here kinda quick. the hst is so darn heavy to cough up.

then on top of that, the brokerage fees they random charge, just for looking at the exterior of your package.

The point is there are NO shops in the city that cater to rod builders since Pollocks closed several years ago.  If you want particular stuff and want to look at it ahead of time and possibly get personal advice you will have to drive at least 30 minutes if not further.
