Thankfully I don't fish downtown to face the rath of Torontonians, thankfully aside from the white bucketers I've never met anyone that gave me a hard time while fishing and I hope it stays that way, but as I think Ijay said I've got a 4" pocket knife for fishing and cutting line etc, but I would never use it on someone unless it was life or death, I always fish where I'm visible to someone if I fall and can't get out of the water etc. The reason I'm bringing this up because I was out once on a pier and say someone trip on an idiots rod while fighting a salmon or pike or something and he went straight in and this guy was holding onto the railing not having anything to cut the line with, obviously he didn't want to let go of his rod. The guy who's rod it was who tripped him had a knife in his hand and the guy who fell in was asking for it so he could cut the line but all that a'hole said was "find your own" like wtf ????? But someone else rushed in and cut his line and helped him out moral of the story keep a knife on you lol and don't fish in downtown lol( sorry for all the typos testing out new tablet)

I've spoke to one of them that came and checked me out once last summer. Me and him talked for a long while shootin the poop. I was interested in becoming a CO and he told me how many patrol S.O and he says it's crazy how understaffed they are down here compared to up north. They really only check 2 dozen spots on any given day that have strict regs put there. And it's usually 2 but sometimes 3.

Ya I wanted to be a CO officer for the longest time, but once I found out how hard it is to get in and all the cut backs their making, I changed my career path

I would have called MNR, and it is an excellent idea to have the number on my cell - will do it.

I would also have taken any garbage that was at their feet or that I saw them discard and put it in a bag at their feet.  I have done this once or twice before and the culprits DID take it away.

I completely agree with you. There used to be a private lake me and my dad enjoyed fishing, We would go a couple times a week for some catch and release and every couple weeks we would keep one to eat if it was nice. about 7 years ago a resort was built on the lake and overnight there were fishermen everywhere, most of them were good guys but a few of them would keep whatever they caught regardless of what it was or how big it was and now the lake seems to be all fished out, once we saw 2 guys keep a walleye that was smaller than the lure they were using, it was less then 6inches. it was very sad to see. over the last two years we have gone back to the lake about 14 times and haven't caught a thing, not even a bite. what once was a great place to fish is now just a place to go swimming.

hey man , its been going on at the resivior that i fish in for at least 20 years seen'em keep turtles even. but i know how you feel, there are laws on fishing for a reason. it drives me crazy, i've kicked their bucket back in. they were not happy, but i was.  People shouldnt keep out of season fish or under sized fish. PERIOD

They sure read the immigration paper fine when applying.... I didn't speak english before moving to ontario and always made sure I followed the rules and regulation and I learned english witting the last 5 years.....Because this is the language people speak here! When you been living for 30 years here and don't speak english....nothing pisses me off more then this...just plain arrogant and ignorant. Not speaking english is a stupid exsuse.

I'm happy to play devil's advocate here, so take it for what it's worth...I'm often intrigued by the stunning myopia of guys who rant, or propose violent and aggressive intervention while using avatars or posting pics of mishandled and gill-plundered fish...let him who is without guilt cast the first stone...
