Well my girlfriend's family is coming up for a visit at the end of august and her father is a huge walleye fan, and I would like to take him fishing, to make a great first impression. The problem is I only fish for bass and pike, and I don't know of any good walleye lakes. Would anyone know of some good places to try within a 3 hour radius of North Bay? any help is greatly appreciated. thanks

Try jig heads with mr twisters or cut the head off a minnow and put it on the same way. As for spots, whereabout are you?

Im not sure of any spots near you, but everytime I catch nice walleye its at a dam. They hang around the fast moving water of the dam and wait for all the weakened/stunned fish to come out of the fast moving current then Bang. Walleye have eyes that are on the top of their head and they hate light so I only fish at night for them. Shine a nice flashlight into the water at night and their eyes will glow, thats how I see if they are in the shallows of the dam, and if i see no eyes I will Throw out a Jig and jig the bottom of the dams current. If night fishing is not an option, and you have a boat, go out200-350 feet and jig the bottom. I never have gone in the day but a family friend has caught nice walleye in the day like this with a Neon yellow or bright green Jig

I also caught a walleye in the daytime before, but just one. It was just a small guy and I got him on a micro crankbait. Im sure its possible the catch them more often in the day somehow, I just have most success in the night for walleye.

I'm no expert but look for rock points with dropoffs a point which directs water out to make a Cove are pretty good for walleye use jigs

Like chasintails said, rocky points or drop offs. Also where fast moving water meets slow moving water.

I have actually never been on Lake Nipissing because I only have a 14 foot row boat and it wouldn't last to long in those big waves.

If you only have a row boat I'd advise you about the french river, currents there can get pretty swift. Watch out for those rapids they come up on you pretty quick.

Talon lake. Fish the edge of weedbeds in 20 feet of water or so. Wasi is good too. Just troll all over it and your bound to pick up a few.

Thanks for the tip, I can't wait to try it. Does it have an dangerous spots I should stay away from?

Hey sorry for late reply but, no, no dangerous spots I can think of to stay away from. Shoals are marked pretty well on both lakes.
