Hi,

 

I am planning to get a fishing boat and my budget is around $10,000.  The Lund WC16 seems to be good based on the review. 

 

I am looking for something basic / easy to maintain since this is going to be my first boat.  Currently I am looking at the WC-16 and got the following quote, appreciate if anyone can help in letting me know if this is a reasonable quote, or recommend a shop for me.  I am located in Richmond Hill (Ontario) but willing to drive a couple of hours if the price, and after sale service of the shop is great.  I am also open to other suggestion (boat / motor) as well.

I'm hoping to upgrade to a Stanley Boat, they aren't best looking, but they are tuff. Lowe Boats are  a good deal for the money.

I have a Princecraft. Paid 23k for it back in 2009!

princecraft is a really nice boat, maybe the best on the market, but they are a bit pricey.

Yea I bought mine for 23k brand new in 2009 and its a 2008! lol. But I have only 45 hours on the motor since. Well kept. Not selling it over priced either. Kinda have it priced to sell at the moment.

Since it's your first boat would you want to think about a 14' tinny? You could get the whole setup for 1-3 k, and then if you like the boat thing and you use it enough then you could upgrade later.

Oh catfish my man its a whole new experience when you have a boat that allows you to fish a full lake and get into areas a tinner could not get you.

Thanks for the suggestion Catfish, I still haven't made up my mind yet.  The boat needs to be able to carry 4 people around and I need something simple, reliable, and durable.  Anyone has any experience in Legend boats, this 16 feet seems to be good:

Based on my research I have heard nothing but positive about Lund and that's why I am considering the WC16.

Oh this is a very simple boat. It is not like a bass boat or a deep V with all the downriggers and all the gadgets, just a trolling motor and 1 fish finder!

Prince craft boats are ok. But for my money ill take a tracker much wider beam bigger decks and tons of dry storage. Mine has a 135 merc and is a very dry ride. Bass boats are kind of one dementional not very good for multi species angling.

Im a bass/musky guy so a bass boat is perfect for me. Trackers have bigger motors but they are slower because they are heavier. My boat actually goes faster with a 75 hp than my cousins tracker deep v with a 115.

Yeah your right they do carry some weight. I like them because I fish a lot of big water for walleye and I feel more secure
