i wonder if you attach fishing line and rod to a gaff, then gaff it in the mouth..
would it count as a legal catch? you can say that a gaff is just a very VERY big wooden lure. lol

Maple Syrup could be good as it rejects water and could stay on the corn longer and is also sweet scent, but I dont think dill pickle juice will work because it's acidic, which is probably not attractive to fish, and also, how can you get it to stay on the corn without washing off?
I cannot believe people listed to this. This thread pops up in google so I wanna make sure I give all the good fishing advice in here that I can.

At the Niagara Whirlpool, Salmon can definitely be caught on corn, not sure about the maple syrup part though.
Only the Canadian salmon hit the maple syrup....the american salmon must have taken over the pools that time.

Was out on a West trib pier from 16:30 till 20:30 and did not have a bite. A guy landed 2, but that was all. Pier was busy and was getting busier as I left.

I was wondering. because if you encourage people to use dill pickle juice, which is basically like vinegar, it could be harmful to the environment and the fish. It's not good to encourage people to poison fish with the bait. However, I will try to maple syrup tomorrow on some fresh roe
