I have used a lot of spinners and spoons fishing...in fact there was a time that I only used these 2 types and nothing else. (Comfort zone). I have lost a lot. and comparing the prices...Mepps are the most expensive, followed by the vibrax and rooster tails, cheapest would be the PMs. I only carry 2 Mepps. # 3 black fury & 3 aglia firetiger.

Black fury - no matter what condition the water is...pike will hit it.

aglia - tossed it under a log and hauled in about 10 bass in one spot (even the small bass will).

Vibrax - Pike, steelhead & brown trout

PMartin size 2 (big blade small hooks) - anything but carp and catfish.

Hey guys thought Id share my night with you! My best night of the summer so far for smallies, with a total of 15 fish. Every fish was caught on this mepps and boy was it fun to land this pig!!! What a fight!

Cheers!

Thanks for sharing grayer... I find Brook Trout very similar to Small Mouth Bass in location/lure selection my favourite lure is the Lucky Strike Spinner with a #2 Indiana blade in gold/nickel finish W/single barbed Mustad #1 & spit shot.
I've found that when I tie into speck about 24 inches or larger that a leader can come in handy as they can and often do bite right through 8lb test like a hot knife through butter when they get big & grow a set of decent teeth!
