Hows it funny? Its to support the site all the money from it goes to the site. Its not free to keep this running and it is pretty expensive to run. 15-20$ a year is not much is it??

A year ago no problem! For what this site has turned into not a chance.
There's a handful of guys who actually fish and post valuable stuff.
The rest are just keyboard warriors who just rip apart your post, thread, and pics.
That's why I post squat anymore!

well kit, if you check and see the OP of this thread you will soon realize it was me. secondly it is hilarious because everyone and thier dog refused to pay anything even when I and others tried to justify it in many ways--most say they wont pay a penny--same people that smoke but spend more time here than smoking, same people that pay ridiculous amounts of money to fish and do other activities in clubs..same people that buy pounds of weed , party, drive gas guzzling cars...all these people (AND I AM NOT POINTING FINGER SO EASE UP EVERYONE) wont pay for a site they visit a 1000 times a day

and now that rumor has it that membership fees are coming into effect in one way or another, I laugh because I was the largest supporter of this..still am..just funny because even the OFF team made it sound lik I suggested handing out free scurvey...

memberships will be the downfall of this site, mark my words, its already going downhill as it is, adding a fee, will cause it to collapse completely.  a membership fee should have been instated at the time the site was created, not years after

 

willing to bet report section, shoutbox and pms are hidden behind a fee

I am the one who went to pwadm and suggested this idea not sure if anyone has in the past.. I wrote a huge PM of what could be done to this site to raise more money for keeping this site going and he would chat with the other Admins and Mods about the idea. Since he said to me in a PM that he was installing the software for this on the 17th of Sept.  Again people, DO NOT again DO NOT have to pay to be on O.F.F! its for the people who actually want to support this site and throw 15-20 bucks at year at it to keep it up and going. While the people paying getting a few extra perks on O.F.F that's it that's all. I don't understand what the big stink is about all of this. If you don't wanna pay then don't pay, don't post on here saying its a stupid ass idea when in reality its not free to run this site AT ALL.

people say they wont but they will-attrition will be minimal--also forget the site cost---would it not be nice to make a little money from this thing that EVERYONE lives on most of their day? I for one do nothing for free, if there is no money in it --and it costs me to boot I am out. if your not of the same mind than you have less self worth than you originally assumed..people are funny man--they cant afford a site that they dwell on however they can waste their money on everything under the sun...meanwhile the openfires of the world need to volunteer their time for nothing in return except new fishing buddies...that's so funny that when I laugh its the kind where no noise comes out...if you had to pay a pro for the stuff you learned on here without even realizing it cause your drooling over everything else this site offers most would already be chapter 11 years ago...
