Saw this wide basket net at sail the other day made specifically for steelhead . I don't like the idea of netting steelhead I would prefer to beach them. Most of the tribs I fish have really muddy banks and I feel Iam doing more damage to them dragging them through the mud than a net would cause. Iam thinking about trying those landing mats I see carp guys use as an alternative any thoughts

Netting them, in my opinion, is probably the easiest to do and manageable - angry steel on a mat may not work too well

Looks like a nice net. I see what your saying about the price . Must come with the steelhead already in it
