New Method 2

Ontario Fishing Forums

Help Support Ontario Fishing Forums:

I read this earlier....What does nobody know know you aren't allowed to do that?

That kid might get in crap. Not onlybis it illegal to get fish by non angling methods, as noted in the comments in the link ( I know about bow fishing etc but am generalising ) but sounds like he was in a sanctuary!!!

i really dont get it why some of the laws are so silly.
i understand snagging, netting/seining, spearing and the likes...

but catching something with your bare hands is in some shape way or form -- illegal ?

. . . . . . . . . . . punishable similarly to criminal or capital offense?

is catching a fish without a hook and line the same as selling drugs on a street, shooting someone, hiring a hitman?
somethings are just weird in canada i guess. :/

Yeah definitely illegal. Gotta give him credit though for pulling it out with his hands.

I did a Capture on this story. Yes it's illegal.

I'm not sure the Guys Comments about the Article being Ill Advised are Accurate.

Perhaps it's Educating a Lot Of People who didn't know it's Illegal, along with some other Good Info about Fish Handling?

lol how did he even decide to go in the river, with all the dead rotting salmon in the first place

^^ opps my bad... i did keep it horizontal though and released it.... btw i was there 3 weeks later and its still there and healthy.

well they need to be aware and care because it's the law and the law does not accept ignorance as an excuse.
You are absolutely right. Non-angling joe public's ignorance to fishign regulations is no excuse. We should have those little assholes charged for screwing around with that fish.

What does that have to do with anything in this thread?
In addition to what "ChasinTails" has already said. YOU were the one that brought up the Anglers VS Non-Anglers..

"Why do anglers think non-anglers should be aware, or care about fishing regulations."

I see you Edited your First Attempt at this Shot. i.e. "Totally irrelevant to this thread".

honestly, rules are rules and we should all follow them. I will say if I saw a bass swim by me in the lake and i had a chance to grab it for a pic I totally would. I think when it comes to spawning and certain situations it is wrong and a fish should be left alone. I have, on the gull river in haliburton, seen 2 musky swimming side by side. Male and female getting their funk on ahha. It would be wrong for me to have gone down into the river and grabbed one.
