Fishing a trib today and we were lucky enough to catch 2 between the 3 of us.
As I mostly catch bass and pike, I lack expertise in the salmonid family. We debated if this fish was a small salmon or a nice size trout. I didn't notice the slight pink hue of the fish until I got home and downloaded the pic.
So what is it?

Top is a jack Chinook Salmon. Bottom is a Male Coho Salmon that's starting to develop his spawning colours.
Also please refrain from naming rivers. This post alone is telling all the lurkers that there are fish in that specific system.

I'm pretty sure. It's the spots and that big hoooked kype.

spots on tail and black gums from what i can see... is that not a chinook?

Spots look like they're only on top of tail, gums looks white or gray and black inside mouth, have to go with CJR on this one

black gums with a white/grey tongue is definately a coho.
