You never want to put anything with any thickness on a pin .... Very thin oil is all you should use on a pin any thing else will slow it down and need more inertia to get it startedThe guy at sail recommended it, whats the negative to using reel butter?

A tackle tamer is what I use to hold my leader and shot line pre tied. They are used mostly by walleye anglers to hod rigged worm harnesses .
