I zoomed in on the gums and it does indeed have white gums, but there is no question that it's a chinook. The overall look of it just screams chinook. Zoom in on the tail though and you'll see the spots

Few fresh chinnys have sometimes white gums. I'm almost 150% sure that's a chinny. I've landed my fare share of ho's to know the difference.

I think the original pic is a female chinook as well from a huron trib or GB trib.

What's this one?
Few freckles. Red colouring... Some black, but not much in the mouth.

Chinook for some reason from Huron and Georgian Bay do quite often have white or greyish white gums . Don't know why and we've often wondered if we were dealing with hybrids or something . I really haven't caught many with black gums . The fish in question is a female Chinook .

Float_On thats a male coho with spawning colors. It gets really easy to tell the male coho's when they get that red/pink color. Ive also learned this year that smaller chinooks can often have white gums, probably because they aren't fully developed.

Ya, knew the male part...
Still struggle with coho/chinook sometimes.
