I got this camera the other day because I was sick of using my older Kodak that had a Digital Zoom olny and it really sucked at taking a picture zoomed in or out and the picture always looked horrible, from what I read about the Nikon L820 from a few reviews I seen online and a camera Mag they were saying this is a great entry level camera that performs better then an entry level camera.
I'm not a camera nerd and don't know alot about how to use a real high end camera and that's why I went with this camera it's seem's to take fairly nice pictures and most people seem to like the pictures it takes and are impressed as well. One of the main reason's I got this camera as well was because I really hate camer's that use their own special battery and I find whenever my friends that have a camera like that the battery is never charged when you want to use it,the Nikon L820 takes 4 AA Batteries Alkaline or NIMH,with Alkalines it say's in the Manual 320 pics and it does not say how many with NIMH rechargeables but if you get 2300mah rated rechargeables they have the same mah as an Alkaline.I like the fact all I have to do is throw in some rechargables and when they die I have 4 Alkalines in my camera bag as back up's.
I got a Red one as that's all the store had and the guy was showing me a Cannon that had less feature's and was 529.00 and did not take as good of pictures and that was another reason I went with this camera.I would recommend this Camera to anyone who wants to take really nice pictures and is flexable and easy to use,it has a very powerful zoom as well,I was in Owen Sound harbor and could zoom in so close on a apartment building on the west side from 600 to 700 yards away the building did not even come close to fitting in the frame,I know that a zoom that powerful is not going to get used much but it is better then being under powered.
If you want to see the specs check out the link and check out the other link to see some pics of a catch me and my friend got not to long ago.
I paid $199.00 on sale from The Source and you need to buy and SD Card as well.
