I prefer going there for steel - its closer to home then the erie tribs and I like the intimacy of the (one specific) river better.

i wanna go up there Sunday. I am coming from KW. Just dont want to waste gas. Really want some salmon fight from Huron.

I like to fish around, but L. Huron has some nice water that is for sure. Endless miles of river to explore. It is nice to be able to catch chrome on a consistent basis with no one else around! I rather lower numbers of fish than the gong show at the more common areas.

Weirdest thing, I hit a completely chrome female chin dog last night in a GB trib... Fluke I'm sure, still a ridiculous amount of fun on 6 pound lead line.

I dont want to name rivers folks. Can anyone from Huron Trib esp.(The Beach Trib) hint, tell me if there are any salmon around now?? Not chrome. I go for chrome at a different Huron trib located before this one. PLease help dont want to drive an extra 54KM from my regular chrome river for nothing.

where did you catch these shinooks!!!   can you please pm me directions, parking spot, a map of which pools you saw fish in and what bait you used?!! :)  and if i go there tomorrow will I catch?  I dont want to drive to the river to not catch salmons.

If the salmon or trout are not running(they ran AWAY from us), you too can catch pike like we did---just check the thread on G Bay opportunities and, with a bit of detective work, figure out the exact spot from the background in the pic!!

For most of the Huron tribs, (close to G0DRH) river levels are quite high.  Is it best to bottom bounce using a 3way swivel for steelhead?
