Hey Chris...I figured you're what this place ought to be about...young guys who are curious about the finer points of angling...keep at it my friend!! Always keep the faith and abide...it's the fly. Perhaps you, at least, might read the story of Xeuxis and discover therein the mystery of fishing the fly and why we are so compelled.

 

So you deserve my last post brother...

 

Lady Caroline is a seemingly simple pattern, but darn...

Stroke your hackle back each turn...

Your mallard roof (detail of a true spey) has to lay quite close to the hook shank...almost parallel with it...

Stroke the mallards between thumb and forefinger and the barbules will reconnect and help marry the barbs together again...

Mind telling me where you're headed? I'd love to stay in contact :) I was pretty happy about the body on this, apart from the tail being a bit long it went well, but the wing was giving me trouble, I need some better BM, the stuff I have now is garbage, the tips simply don't like each other lol.
