Then why are you weighing in on scents? Fly fishermen rely on a fishes sight and never experiment with taste or smell. Fly fishing isn't even so much about catching fish and more about the art so I respectfuly say your opinion is invalid

if you want to swing that way, I could say using scents does not make you a real fisherman, because a real fisherman would be able to use his skills in the art of bait presentation to induce a strike

just because im a fly fisherman for trout does that mean i have always been a fly fisherman? my opinions don't matter on a subject?  i fish with lures all the time, just for other species, and can say i have caught more fish in one summer(600+) using a white 3" mr twister with either a red or yellow/orange 1/4 onze jighead, so please, do not disrespect my opinion on using scents.

When the fish are hungry and aggressive scent doesn't make a different at all!!! but when they are off and you need that something extra to entice them scent makes all the difference in the world

no disrespect intended as a matter of fact I said "I respectfully say", it seems as though you are the one that wants to swing that way so here we go,  just because im a fly fisherman for trout does that mean i have always been a fly fisherman? The topic is called "Steelhead scents" my opinions don't matter on a subject? your opinion does not matter in this case because you fly fish for trout and you would never have cause to try scent while fly fishing. i fish with lures all the time, just for other species, and can say i have caught more fish in one summer(600+) using a white 3" mr twister with either a red or yellow/orange 1/4 onze jighead The topic is "Steelhead Scents" do not disrespect my opinion on using scents. again no direspect intended

steelhead are trout, lets get that straight, no i have not always been a fly fisher for steel/trout, i started out as a bag and worm slinger, had the needle to pump my worms all the roe tying jigs, different colours of mesh, and still switch over to a float rod/reel to change things up, so for you to say that my opinion on whether or not scents work is invalid is disrepectful
