ya some guys call it alcona beach, most call it innifil beach park or IBP for short, the parking is 10 bucks for non-rezis but you can just drive onto the ice and park, or depending on conditions even drive to the spot but best to just park, we could just make a sign or just meet at the boat launch, ounce there are a few people other guys will find us but i have no-idea how to count that everyones here, lol.

picked up some 2pound test today- as i was told 5pound is not light enough. and OMFG its like hair . i cant get it to bloodknot to 8pound floro mainline. had to use a small swivel to connect lines. running 50 feet of 2pound then mainline . that should be lots right? oh also grabed a light action ugly stick pairing that up with an oldder michle 300 reel and it seems to work fine

no need for that light of line from my experience. I have no issues using 6lb flurocarbon for them but I usually use 4lb. Even get perch on my pike deadstick with 15lb mono.

ya but what size lol, if you want consistent 10-15 inchers, you gotta go light!

sometimes they bite well on everything but true jumbos 13+ inches are very careful, most days they will not even look at the bait if you have 8 pound test, this comes from fishing simcoe almost every weekend, (20 minutes away) some days i get them on pike tip ups when they're real active but i find you have to work for the real jumbos and jig constantly to even get their attention, you can use whatever you prefer, this is just my personal experience. that being said you won't even feel a micro jig with 8 pound test........

ya they are few and far between but i know a few spots, only downside, its a long walk, erie jumbos are nice but I've gotten 16 inchers out of simcoe too, so both produce, I've also heard the boq produces nice ones.

well I bought the line anyways and if I do not need it that light, I have my 5pound setup and I am bringing a 8 pound setup as well. as for micro jigs I have some small jigs and such I believe are micro jigs, Lindy somthing grubs and 9 gram or grain different color jigs got some honey worms and 1inch power leech as well, grabbing some pinheads too. wish I could fins some dew worms, but I do not think tromblys wil be open that early, I know they still have worm over the winter.
