hit up a lake up north with FIshChaser67 and Christopher K. we got there late (around 12) we started working one spot, stayed there for about an hour with nothing to show for. Me and Chris went deeper to find the fish while my dad and fish chaser stayed at the same spot, well after walking 2 km like idiots we found the hotspot not even 100 metres from our original spot "sigh". Chris got a hit right off the bat, which turned out to be a smelt but he lost it. 20 minutes later, Chris is yelling "got one" and I'm standing by the hole getting ready to lift the beauty. It turned out to be a nice eater whitie and Chris went to show the others while i stayed at the same spot. Fishchaser decided to leave but not 15 minutes later i had my first fish on, which was lost due to my spring bobber freezing up and losing tension on the line. I kept getting hits and kept losing them to the spring bobber. On my 3rd hook set id had enough of the spring bobber and decided to hand bomb this fish. It was al good until about 2 metres from the hole, when the fish freaked and started peeling line, 10 metres at a time, this was no dink! It turned out to be one of my biggest whities from this lake and a beauty at that! After about 15 minutes, Chris gets a hit and it starts peeling line like crazy, even more then my previous fish, i though it was a high laker right from the start until we got about 3 minutes into the fight and i could see it was a whitie, what i dint know however, that it was like a 1 pound fish and a bit bigger then a smelt, lol. It peeled about half the spool off, smallest whitie of the day fought like a 20 pound laker, awesome in my books! I lost a few more fish as did Chris, my dad was sitting quietly and lost one and then another smelt. In 20 minutes the whities decided to ditch our spot and the smelt was in, now the hookset ration to these guys is about 1 fish ever 50 hook sets which was both depressing and interesting, because we never knew what it was, i got a pretty nice one at 9 inches and a few at about 5-7. Awesome day, had a great time with a couple forum members and even had a few fish to show for, hopefully Chris can upload some pics of his fish so we can see them, the big whitie i got spat up a smelt while i was cleaning him which really surprised me, a few of my fish:[/URL[/URL[URL=http://s879.photobucket.com/user/rainbow256/media/IMG_20140112_211617_zps74720c96.jpg.html[URL=http://s879.photobucket.com/user/rainbow256/media/IMG_20140112_211429_zps842cf6a0.jpg.html]
