Nice tie Chase! Looks like the floss has a bit of a backwards taper though, does it?

I don't know (floss back half only then dubbing)...crappy pic. Started tying and old 19th C pattern and broke off the heron...so had to wing a non-pattern...
19C patterns to come.

I've not tied classics for a while, cause I'm over-committed with three fly swaps across NA...so out of practice a bit. Friend of mine is making custom salar hooks...nobles and limericks...

Rebending them or piano wire? Either way I'd be interested in some nobles...

I Hate when a 10 dollar feather breaks. Does it have wings or just a heavy teal collar?

You have any idea, spray paint or japan black for the finish?
Posted 05 March 2014 - 10:31 PM
Spray painting the first set...and J black for the remainder once we have a little kiln

Remind him to wear a mask with that stuff, I've heard it's pretty strong s#@^t! Let me know when he has a batch ready, I'll be glad to test some, lol.

He's having some jigs water cut...once he has his system worked out I'll let you know.
I'm working on a article on hook making for publication and will be documenting the process pictorially...I'll post the pics on Hippy

That would be great, I've been considering getting into it for a while, but there isn't much info out there.

Nop...he had to research this for about a month...not going to be mass produced but should be cool to have some hand forged hooks....
