I agree with Chris K, When me and you were talking about that fly on sunday I tie it will the first bead butted up against the eye and then like a wrap of dubbing securing my silly skin then the other bead butted against that. Not to say that wont catch fish, Id certainly drift it!

Here are a couple of foam poppers I have tied recently. I also have a bunch of flies ready to be finished but I'll knock them off sometime down the road. Cheers!

One of my first flies that really got me hooked onto fly fishing, the foam spider. I used this fly around the lily-pads watching the schools of sunfish race the the fly...good times!

avid yak, what finish are you using? Those have a much better glaze finish than I am getting, I am using cement fly to finish mine.

Chris K -Sweet! Gonna try that next, looks segmented and gives it a narrower profile.Just wondering do the fish prefer hard or soft flies?, you know on the initial take

IMO when you're talking about dries they don't give a crap, the take is so quick and the strike should be quicker that they can't sit there and chew on it, the most important thing for dries is making sure they accurately match the bugs you're imitating, using a quill body is much closer to any mayfly than dubbing.
