I watch videos on youtube and sort of mesh different things together based on what all I have in my inventory.

 

They are all catching though so theyre working!

 

In the spirit of just trying to get this thread going again as per duck dynasty^ lol, I did up a batch of these most recently, some nymph thing

I got frustrated trying to mount my mallard wings so i threw on some hackle tips

Still at the hackle tips. My fishing partner became a proud papa for the first time today. I guess I'll call it a "Pink Maddy"

First two ever. lol.  I should've used white yarn i think too. 

 

Is that hook too big for those?

For the size of egg you tied it's a little big but tie it larger and it's fine. I find the style of this pattern a little odd myself, it looks good with a veil over it though, try tying some white yarn or laser/ice dub over it, mimics the old skien.
