So I started tying, and I officially am addicted. Its honestly like being in zen mode. And somewhat cures the winter blues.

These flies are my first on the vise after watching a few Orvis videos.

not bad Kit! the fish will definitely like em, theres nothing more rewarding then catching a fish on a hand made fly!  would also recommend in the riffle for how to videos, he does a great job in the step by step

I think I had the same tying kit, the vice screws lasted about 8 months before the threads were stripped.

I would respectfully disagree, I've seen some absolutely terrible tying techniques on in the riffle. Look at Davie McPhail, Tightline videos and if you're interested in streamers then fly fishing the ozarks. There are other good channels but those I find consistent, and they always do things right.

TC- I wish I could sub out the bronze mallard wings always a challenge. FF- those woven flies are pretty buggy. Kit - addiction for sure keep at it . Chris K.- As for online I can't comment about in the riffle haven't really viewed anything there, I like Davie McPhail, he's from my mum's neck of the woods, caddis chronicles, featherbender. Kelly Galloup on youtube does some nice big streamers

So I got a new vise yesterday Montana Pro II great for the price.. I can now tie in bed haha..

Copper Zebra Midge. I know the bead is a bit big but will be good for the deep pockets.

Was tying buggers today and was wondering how to secure the chenille after you're done wrapping it? Do you have to wrap in front of the chennile before cutting it?
Thanks guys. I'll post some pics once I get home.

I always put a couple wraps over the material you want secure then I put one or two wraps in front just to lock it down. I do this with mostly everything and find that I rarely have anything slip or come undone. Hope this helps. I'm sure you could probably find something on youtube there's countless videos and different methods of doing it just gotta find which one you like best.
