I have been having fun tying kebari style, starting at the head, tying to the bend and whip finishing at the bend. Kind of turns my head around.

Haha, Ya, kind of annoying to build a nice smooth body and then have the whip finish mess it all up!

I agree, good tying there! Have you tried it on a jig hook?

Working on this foam tailed some kind of mayfly imitation today. Have not got the hackle right yet but here is the first.
I do like the extended body! IMO, if you made the wing a little fuller and 1/2 again longer, and moved it back (little bigger thorax), the proportions would be much better. Do I see CDC or some other material extending from the sides to maintain balance & floatation?

Moose is quite interesting as a material because it is so strong. You just need 2 or 3 hairs for a tail on a mayfly, or for antennae on stoneflies. Also, 2 or 3 fibres make good mayfly nymph and dun bodies when wrapped around the hook. I don't have any, but my guys over near you have some if I want.

So you suggest tying it in the traditional english way and then flipping it back on itself with wire?

the wire or straw will just hold the hackle back while you finish
