as i said, expensive. one of the more hardcore fisherman i know on another board recommends this line, suppose to be a better than promix, but not that cheap http://www.fishusa.c...ment-Line--300m

honestly though i told you once, buy a bulk spool of promix. you won't regret it. worth every penny, and works out cheap. i just would not buy the 12lb i would buy the 10lb. sufix is not really thin.

Whats wrong with the 12lb?

Anyways, im heavily leaning towards sufix Elite. I think its a bit more stretchy than some other mono, but its got great memory and very cheap price. I retie lures and hooks a lot, and I go through a ton of line cause I like direct connection to everything. Would be more cost effective, I believe.

6000 yards of line for 80 bucks is expensive?  sufix 12 is .013 a bit thick for my taste, that is as thick as  raven 15lb.  the sufix will not break anywhere near 12. also it is best line bang for the buck you can buy, nothing is better than promix anywhere near that price.

I have no idea where you are getting those prices from. Any store that sells a smaller spool i can try? Im not going to buy a line i never used in 6000 yards spool. But no, 6000 yards for $80 is not expensive at all. I was talking about maxima when i said sufix would be more cost effective.

About aufix, yes i know sufix has a higher breaking point than whats labeled. So do many other lines.I dont really care. Im buying based on line diameter. For my fishing uses, 8lb line would more than good enough. Im using it on baitcaster so i want a bit thicker line.

IR4J edit*

Sufix stopped making promix but they sold off a bunch of bulk spools. I have not seen many sites that carry the small spools but the bulks can be bought from places like Centerpin angling. (what klik said but more coherent) The small spools are on amazon 9$ for 400yard spools

To paraphrase Mr. Klik: "Buy a discontinued product and learn to love it because I say it is the smart buy! I am right because I used my spare time to do a google search!"

Klik, I am starting to think you have no idea what you are talking about. Go back to playing with your float reels.

I can speak for klik, promix is easily one of the best float fishing lines you will find. Now I cant remember and now that im typing this I dont want to go back and look but I dont believe he was looking for a float line... That being said, promix has an extremely low memory and is a very supple line... Exactly what the OP was looking for

Ya im using the line for my baitcaster.

Im ganna go with sufix elite. Lebaron has it, and its pretty cheap. Not sure if it comes in green color tho. Im ok with clear line but would prefer green if they have it.

nate28 you seem to have some sort of vendetta against me. i would not be surprised that you made this account just to start arguing with everything i say. considering you don't know what paraphrase means, maybe you are not intelligent enough to do simple math either. actually i am more than likely sure you are not intelligent in general by reading your posts. buying two spools of 6000 yards, that is 12000 since i am sure you can't do math. that amount of line will last  you over 10 years if you respool every single reel you have every  year x 2. you have no idea what you are talking about. tons of people buy discontinued items, because they were made well and function just fine. promix was discontinued because it was expensive to make and the colour was not popular.

i own a bulk spool of promix 8. i will be ok for many years to come.

edit: also call centerpinangling and see if Jim could sell you a small spool of 12 so you can try it.
