Hello fellow fishermen/women! My name is Mark, I'm 29 years old, and live and work in Hamilton.  I got into fishing last year, thanks to an older buddy who took me out, and needless to say I AM HOOKED!

I started off last year with a lot of worms and bobbers, mostly around Bayfront Park and Princess point, as well as a few of the conservation areas around here. After catching lots of smaller panfish and my share of gobies,  I slowly upgraded to soft plastic baits, and inline spinners and began catching bigger fish, and fell completely in love with fishing at that point. I am happy to fish for everything, and I'm constantly reading online about various techniques, watching videos, etc.

During these winter months I've upgraded my gear from a $25 rapala combo to a 7'MF Fenwick HMG paired with a Pfleuger President 6930 with 10lb Hi Vis PP as well as a lower end BPS Graphite 6'6 MH F that I still need to pick up a reel for.  I am going crazy the last couple months waiting for the ice to melt, and have started thinking about finding SOMEWHERE nearby that would give me shore access to just get a line wet, even if all I do catch is a cold.  I did head up north a couple times this winter with my wife, and rented huts and tried out some casual ice fishing, but all I can think about is getting out there and testing out all my new gear and lures! I look forward to getting to know some more like minded fishing fanatics, and joining in on the conveations, as my wife and friends are tired of listening to me talk about anything fishing related! I'm going to try and upload a couple of pictures of some of my favourite catches from last year, nothing spectacular, but all memorable! I'm still incredibly new to fishing in general, so I'm sure you'll be answering a lot of question from me in the future :) bigbass.jpg fish.jpg rainbow.jpg smallmouth.jpg

I'd love to hear anyone's guess on the size of the bass in the first picture, same fish is in my avatar. It's my biggest bass so far, but didn't have any way to measure.
