I'm not sure of this is the right place to ask this question but has anyone had any luck drifting flies or fly and bead combos for Steelhead?

I saw it on a youtube video and I know it's done by some when fly fishing, just wondered if there was any point to trying it.

Thanks,

Steve

A great technique is to try a modular setup of two flies. For instance, at the end of your line, a stone fly and then (with light tippet) tied to that stone fly hook, a egg pattern or some other fly. Drifted perfectly, this can be quite effective.

100% yes, totally effective, and can often be a better presentation of non surface/subsurface flies than with a traditional fly rod and line

Opening last year, my uncle was drifting them and was one after the other. Monday after opener I went to BPS to get rigged up. Ive tied about a hundred flies and cant wait to get started.
