Happened last opener on the ditch. 20 peeps on a very nice pool another pool downstream have about 15 peeps. there is about 50 feet of moderate 3 ft deep run in between the 2 pools. seeing that some fish will go from one pool to the other and back, I had no choice but to drift in the middle. As soon as I start catching....next thing I know there are 5 people fishing the shallow part. People just want to catch fish during the opener. When people gets bummed out and frustrated...it gets ugly.

I guess I am lucky where I go I might see 1 or 2 guys there through out the day.
Again I guess it comes down to courtesy, and common sense. Good luck to everyone and good fishing ( remember always try to be the better man and women out there ).

Lucky for me, guys are either super nice and willing to let me nudge in or, they are too shocked to see pink on the bank that they stay away....muhahaha.
I agree with fishergirl, just start hitting on the guys fishing the good water and they will generally move off pretty fast! (at least for my ugly yap lol...)
But in all seriousness, I try to stay away from people as much as possible. Always ask if you can share some drifts, unless they or I am fly fishing. Pro tip #4 if I am swinging a pool and you come and stand across from the good water I am not responsible if an errant snake roll catches you in the nose

trying to bite my lip IR4J but just because you swing flies doesn't mean you own the river Pro tip #5 your errant snake sounds more like a arrogant snake....lol Not trying to be rude brother we are both after the same goal and there is no need to threaten anyone with your fly rod.
OK now that I've cleared the air, the truth is I fully agree with you and never ever bump into a hole with a fly fisherman, I have fly fished for many years and spend my summers in search of resi browns and specky's on the fly. On that note I hold the same respect for float fishermen and try my best never to crowd out any type of angler. But I also share and would never ever drop a fly on someones lap for crowding me out or fishing across the river, instead I go to the hole they just came from and hammer one there. MUCH more satisfying.

Pro tip #6: get over ourselves, take the high road and let the babies fish the way they want and just keep moving up stream to a better, more productive hole.
If there is more than one person fishing a hole, chances are it has been spooked so badly those fish are not going to budge for anything. Best to keep hiking.
If somebody barges in on your hole without saying hi, try and chat them up as much as you can. Chances are you'll probably end up making a friend. Best way to roll and sometimes you learn something useful from the other person. Worst case, a person crashes your hole and they really are a dbag, they will get annoyed at you talking to them and leave after a couple drifts. Problem solved.
In other circumstances, just move. I mean, how many fish can you catch out of one hole, even if it is stacked? Give somebody else a turn. If the other person is being a dbag, nothing sends a message more than walking away like he stinks.
Whatever you do on that river, keep it classy. You don't have to be nice or a role model, just don't be a jerk. People will respect you for it and be willing to give you an extra inch. Just don't take the mile. It goes for everything else in life.

Ill clear up what I meant, If a swing fisherman is standing at the head of a pool making cast at a 45 down stream to the middle of the pool and a float or another fly guy comes and stand in the middle of the pool nymphing or drifting then thats where I have problem with it. The snake roll comment was supposed to be funny if any of you know what a snake roll is then you would know it would be more or less impossible to hit someone down stream...(which I would never do, words always come first)
I fish opening day on the fly in a pretty crowded stretch of river so it obviously doesnt bother me to share my water but when you start getting bullied out of a pool by 2,3,4 even 5 other guys then thats where I have a problem. Common courtesy goes a long way.

Fair Enough brother, I would have a problem if someone low-holed me on the float rod as well.
