I seen a guy from Iowa cleaning Perch and Walleyes with this Skinner, He was removing the skin then flipping the fillet over and removing the rib bones with no wasted meet.

He also uses this on Sunfish and Crappies.

Wow, I thought the Wife could handle this.

I checked on the Internet and found them selling for about $ 35.00 US.

Any one else seen this or using  one like this.

Mostly catch and release, but I do keep a fish once in a while if it is hooked thru the gills or bleeding badly. Barbless hooks mean I only keep a fish every 2 years or so, so I am not what you would call an expert at skinning and cleaning fish. Something like this might be handy.

Agree completely! OFF helped my understand more of the importance of catch and release without a doubt but this does seem like a way for actually making the best for the fish you do decide to keep.

Only time I keep fish is early bass opener and perch in the winter ice fishing. Or if I want to eat trout etc I just buy it fresh from the store.

If you're filleting a fish with a filet knife, why would you use this contraption when the filet knife will do a much better job? Fish skin separates from flesh pretty easily with a sharp knife.

This would work for large #s of smaller fish like Crappies or Sunfish.

Or the guy that has a tough time getting the rib bones off with out wasting to much meet.

The guy I seen using this tool did not role the skin around the roller, It pealed off in one motion.

I practice Catch and Release always on bass unless seriously injured.  If I'm going for perch oh yeah Ill keep a few good ones for a meal and walleye only ones about a lb or 2 large.
