Not the best opener...but not the worst! Only managed to pull one brown out all evening after work. The photo is also not the best my hands were shaking like a son of a b****, just so happy to finally get something on! I was just using a small UL trout rod with a float and worm. Tomorrow morning I am going to try on the fly, its a very tight little creek so not sure how it will work out. Mostly browns and some brookies in this creek, any tips on what I should put on my line? I was thinking an elk hair caddis, with about a 10"-12" piece of tippet with a BH pheasant tail nymph on it. Let me know what you think!!

Cheers fellas

Went 2/12. Got my first steelie! There was also a beached steelie that I revived. That felt pretty good.

Anyway.. Holy amazing day. My arm Ave wrist are sore. Some of the hookups were just too big for me to land with lack of experience and a small net but next time... Next time they'll all be mine.

Pics to come.

Only had 3h to fish because of family plans, but wasn't going to skip the opportunity.
They definitely weren't stacked up like years past, felt a little more like fall fishing than opener!

Plus, had to break-in my new reel, glad I didn't skunk it on its first outing!

Took a lot of will power to hike back to my car at 9am on opening morning. But better than being in the doghouse.

had good morning, lost all my fish i had hooked up at the bank (the braided loops for lines, would NOT recommend, ever!) due to well the braided loops coming off my line, and broken tippets as I was about to net the fish.

and broke my NRX! ugh!
