Will be taking the new float tube out for a run in around TO, don't usually fish pike this early so hopefully I can figure them out, thinking bunny leeches and jerkbaits will be the lures of choice for me.

My buddy and I are going to try Saturday evening, I also have a couple Scatter Raps I'm excited to try out. I've read mixed reviews about them, but I'll have to see for myself. I've read that they can have problems rolling over when retrieved too quickly, so if that's happening try and slow down to make them run true. I got skunked on trout opener, but hopefully I can contribute some pictures to this thread in the future lol. This has been my first winter experiencing 'cabin fever' I'm just so thankful the ice is finally gone and we can get back at it!

Wat r u guys gonna be throwing? As for me I'm gonna mostly be using husky jerks and maybe the odd minnow under a float
See my previous post.... and yeah a few husky jerks, they also can be effective if the toothy boys are a little lethargic. Those spinner baits work wonders where i go, just have to slow it down this time of year. ( water still very cold ).
Good luck to all

Really? Whats a matter with you guys lol.. Awesome fishing there.. Especially on a fly..
I picked up some Husky Jerks and that new Live Target lure that mimics a group of bait fish.. Can't wait to try it out.

Let me know how the Live target works for you..... i am little hesitant about it, not sure if it is just a gimmick or a legit lure. Plus they are pretty pricey.

I've got some Husky Jerks, Smithwick suspending rogues, and Scatter Raps to try out. Also going to try some lipless cranks I picked up, a Red Eye Shad and some cotton cordells. I see ppl talk a lot about jerkbaits and spinners for pike, anyone have any luck with the shorter fat style crankbaits? Like Wiggle Warts or KVD 1.5s
