Fixing a bottom section of a rod?

Hey guys, i recently broke a med/heavy rod, the upper half is in total working condition, the lower half is broken and the connecting piece, the connecting piece is gone but other than that its fine, any ideas? Thanks.
 
Send it back to the manufacturer or post the type of rod and if you are very, very lucky you might find someone that has broken the top half and have the bottom part sitting in the basement.
 
That sucks. you would think they wuld upgrade ur rod instead of giving you a less expensive one. I know there's a lot of companies out there will upgrade your rod no questions asked
 
send in the bottom half tell em the top piece ended up in the water and retrieval is not an option then turn ur top piece into an ice fishing rod. If they refuse to help you now you know not to buy another simax rod.
 
they said they won't give me the bottom section, only a full rod that costs cheaper for an extra 25, i fixed it last night, instead of 7' its not 6'9, well see how it holds up, last night it passed all the tests lol. Im really not impressed with their customer service at this point, the number and email i got with the rod in the warranty papers was fake and i sent them an email regarding how unhappy i am, still no reply.
 
If it doesn't work, you could always put the two pieces together then wrap that broken part as tight as you can with a thin gauge wire and then epoxy it so it doesn't unwrap. trim off the excess and it should be good as new.

Thats that old guy right? I stopped in there a couple times and know of people who have got their rods fixed there. My friends didn't like his shop that much but I liked it, you don't see to many like that any more. I actually have a couple rods I need him to fix
 
cut off the splinter area with a fine saw, like a jewellers saw (or similar) then epoxy it together into a 1pc rod.
