Lol. Double haul every cast your arm will be dead by the end of the day haha.
Hahahahaha I think we just need to create a fly-fishing oriented work-out program.

Lmao. Everyone grab a 1"x1" cut it to about 6ft long and swing it around like your double hauling fly line that should give your arm and hand a good work out.

Really? Well your going to be in for a treat. This stretch holds some monsters. 5lb'ers are pretty common along with the odd 6-7lb'er.
if you look at the map and go down stream you will see the river bend and that spot I call is Bass bend. That's basically all that's there in that entire section along with Pike.

If I was driving all that way Id be going for trout, But I'll make an exception. I fly fish for bass a lot at the cottage so its not something I ever seeked out at home

The lower areas of the grand has some of the best fishing around its a honey hole cause most people don't wade it. They just fish from shore and them spots are pressured a ton so catching fish there is pretty hard.

Kit.. stop saying things like 5lb'ers are common.. such a tease.

haha I wuldnt say 5 pounder's on the grand are common... they're there but can be difficult to catch. Ur average smallie in the grand is 1-3 pounds. The good thing about the river tho is that it is common to have a 20 or 30 bass dayThey are! Lol.

Stop it with your 5 lb'ers and 20-30 bass days! I'm already anxious and using a puffer thinking about bass season. No need to make my knees weak too!

No problem, but looking at those flies they are flat out work horses, certainly not lookers. LOL

Oh, and don't worry FG, a 4 wt is fine, I'll be using a 5wt glass rod, basically a soft 4wt. I double hauled 2/0 decievers all day today, then pitched a baseball game and I feel fine.
