I know they are thick but I only went there without the motor. If I am using my inflatable with 30lb trolling motor, do you think I'm just gonna be untangling weeds the whole time? I'd like to go several hundred metres from the launch.

let's hope so.
how do you fish for pike and avoid the weeds at the same time? i don't think i'll be able to cast jerk baits and inline spinners without pulling in a bunch of lettuce every time.

You'll be fine, the weeds are usually about 3 feet below the surface unless you're along the shore for bass, find the edges and you should be ok.

I have heard it is really weedy there, but they should not be too bad this time of the year. I heard pike city there as well. Have yet to check it out and it is only a half hour from my house.

An electric is a good idea if fishing from an inflatable on Mountsberg. It takes about 15 minutes to row across the resevoir.
