Hey OFF, I just thought I would show off a couple of my new rods for the bass season. So far it has been great and I cannot wait to put some more of these rods to the test! Have to love my new st.croix set ups!

How are the Rage rods?  I have not gone out to a shop to look at them yet.  Got two Mojo bass and completely in love with them.  What are the differences between the Rage and Mojos?

So the Mojo Rods are basically the triumph/premier blank. Only thing is they are made in a different location I believe. The rage rods have the blank of the avid blanks which are a bit higher end. Rage rods are amazing. Realistically they do not compare to a legend tournament or extreme but for someone who is not looking to destroy the bank, you can pick up a Rage for a good price.

Big fan of st croix rods, but I have to say that I do not think that I would ever buy anything less than their Rage line again.  I have had some of their mojo and premier lines but once you have fished all day with an avid/rage or legend it is tough to go back to a heavier blank.  The mojos are a great starter rod, but if you fish all day the lighter rod will be much appreciated.

Nate T you are 100 percent right! The mojos are filler rods for me to use when I take some clients out to let them use. I needed a couple more rage rods for my season.

I picked up a legend tourny magnum cranker today (7'10 heavy mod.) pairing it with an e5 chronarch next pay cheque! honestly stoked, going to fill my deep diving crank/jerk bait aswell as a bama/umbrella rig rod!

I am yet to try that one out. I love their slop gear but need to start upgraded a few other items. As for reels, to be honest the Daiwa Tatula is amazing. You can buy them for 126 at Le Baron on woodbine.

You may want to look at an E7,  some of those big cranks like a bit more gear ratio and you would be limiting yourself as to what you can do with the lower ratio.

I use a Daiwa Tatula on my 13 fishing envy rod and love this reel, great reel for the money.

Bow_Man I am pretty much trying to make all my reels the tatulas, I love the feel of them and they are not even that heavy. People go on all day about being efficient with having light gear.... I am a big boy I can be efficient with a heavier reel/rod combo. I can't say I have had a day of being tired from pitching and flipping the whole day.

I have a tatula type r on my flipping stick... honestly have mixed feelings about it... 8.1:1 is nice but I find the drag slips on it when you set the hook...

 

As for the e5 vs e7 comment for the specific pattern i've been fishing I need the slower gear ratio, Ive been fishing it with a 6.4:1 and it is too fast to comfortable fish.. I am also considering a calcutta at 5.0:1

I use a Rage rod for rip jigging walleye and bass, most likely my favourite rod. I think the neoprene grips a wicked. I like the space aged designed better than my cork crucials but that must be more because I'm a younger dude.

I still appreciate cork handles. There are some nice quality ones out there still made by St.Croix

Cyphus I unfortunately am not a fly guy but I do have a good few friends who love to hit the rivers with their fly rods and one of them has the avid I believe and he swears by it!

I wouldnt buy any st croix fly rod over the imperial series... well unless it was the legend musky rod...

Thinking it through farther I apologize if I have been rude. What bothers me is that your posts verge on advertisements. You have a vested interest in the company. There are different forums for that.
