Yes, if you are the most knowledgeable angler on that body of water, it doesn't matter what you fish with or what you fish from...you are THE expert. That is why grandpa with his 14-foot tinny can beat out Mr. Hotshot Angler of the Year with his 20-foot Tracker and 150 Yahama on local tourneys...because grandpa has been fishing that lake all his life and named his favourite pet bass in the lake...while Mr. Hotshot has general knowledge but don't know the lake like the back of his hand.

 

Which is why I have never said I'm an expert and I'll never agree to that term. I know a lot of general knowledge and I can generally do well fishing anywhere...but I'm not one who fish the same spot or for the same species 24/7. So I'll never be an expert...but I'm a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none...and that's OK too.

 

Does owing a Tracker and actually entering into tournament actually make you a pro? Does owning a $1000 pin immediately make you a steelheader? Don't answer that...they are rhetorical questions. We already know the answer.

 

Again, science teaches me that the 15 year old summer student can be an expert in the system he's studying...even more than all the scientists with their PhD and years of research...if he truly knows his system better than anyone else in the world. Yes, a highschool kid without his diploma can be the leading internation expert in a cancer cure. It is not what you own...but what you actually know.

Haliburton has AMAZING smallies! I know a lake there when on average I catch 4 pounders all day. My pb was 7 lbs on the nose. The fish was a fatty and came in just a hair under 24 inches

Oh man that sounds great! Living in Halton and trying to find fishing holes close to home has been productive for bass as well, but I can only consistently get largemouths. No smallies,- and your post sounds like a dream

I always try and hold my catch close as possible to myself when getting a picture taken. It's Sorta a no b.s. factor.

I do experiments everyday for a job...that took me all of 5min to set up and 15min to type. Getting laid will take even longer than that.

Lol I'm dieing at all this in depth review of the length, I myself weighed the fish and my brother used the same measure board I use in tournaments to measure both. I really don't care about all the science behind it and I do not mean to be disrepctful at all lol but I had a blast and caught 3 hogs so far with my brother who was off his shift rotation for the week! Couldn't have asked for a better couple of days.

 

1. You had a Blast!

 

2. You caught 3 Hogs I'd be more than happy with. (I wouldn't of even bother Measuring them. Hook out. Back they go.)

As far as I'm concerned.  NOTHING!

 

I was more than pleased with this guy and he sure isn't any Record Breaker.  One of 4 that day.

 

I have No Idea how long they were, or how much they weighed, nor did I care.

 

The name of the Game was a FUN Days Fishing!

 

PS: I'm also 6'-1" and you got me by 20 Lbs. ...LOL....
