So I got to spend the past week back home in Northeastern Ontario (Kirkland Lake area), and spent a day canoeing around on Larder Lake. The smallies, like this guy, loved my white XRap:

And these guys....at the same time...

I found a rocky little island to have lunch on, and a few casts in I caught two smallies...one on each treble. Apparently the bass in Larder Lake really can't resist a white XRap....even one already in another smallie's mouth!

Nicely done, Will! My family is from the Kirkland area as well - love it up there!

If all goes as planned, I should be up that way in September.

My fiancée is from there (Swastika). Looks like we'll have to go visit the area :)

White X-Rap in 8cm size doesn't catch fish. Don't listen to his lies. ;-)

haha....thanks guys. It's definitely nice to fish in a lake where you can see for a few km's......and no other boats!

But it's true, MuskieBait. I just edited the color of the XRap to hide the secret pattern. Everyone knows white lures are boring and don't work...;)

There's something about how they swim that drives smallies nuts. I had my fly rod there and was trying a streamer that was almost the same size, colour and  shape, and they wouldn't touch it. I even tried the same speed and depth...nothing. X-Raps FTW.

I used my points from Fishhound to order a perch colourway.

I'm down to buy more if they can be bought on sale in the GTA.

I got some x-rap shad in clown and perch that I wanna trade for a shallow diving x-rap if anyone is interested.

That's awesome! I was also up there this past Saturday but since I don't have a boat, I fished along the shores. Still, the trip was definitely worthwhile. On my first few casts I was using a heavy spoon and BAM I felt a hard tug. So, I'm reeling like a mad man thinking that I might have finally hooked a trout (which I have been dying to catch since I started fishing two years ago!) but of course it was just a branch!

So I see some small fish cruising around near the shore and decided to target them instead. I switched to a bobber and hook setup and cast it out and within a few minutes I see the bobber vanish. Adrenaline! I could tell that the fish was small but having caught only a few fish in my short fishing history, I was pumped! It turned out to be a tiny smallmouth no bigger than my hand but boy was I happy.

Plopping the fish back into the water was even more satisfying!

After that I caught 3 more smallies of which this one was the biggest.

All in all, it was a great day of fishing and I am excited to go back there again in a few months. I had a purple Xrap with me last Saturday but I didn't think of using it. I'll try my luck using it next time!

I did not catch any Peacock Bass, Mayan Cichlid and Oscars with X-Raps in Florida.

I did not catch any Jack Crevalle and Great Barracuda with X-Raps in Belize.

I did not catch any Japanese Seabass with X-Raps in Hong Kong.

I did not catch any Talang Queenfish and Mangrove Red Snapper in Malaysia.

I leave all my X-Raps at home when I travel. It's such a junk lure, I'm not going to buy more in the future.
