New to the Forum, not new to boating....I'm interested in chatting with a fellow boater who has traveled from the South Shores of Lake Ontario to lock 1 of the Trent and byond.
I'd like to know the recommended Min. vessel size for a crossing of Lake Ontario. Planned route....Niagara on the Lake (St. Catharines Marina) to Trenton (Lock 1) to Bobcaygeon (lock 23)
Can the Lake Ontario to Lock 1 route be made in 1 day or do I need to moor? Recommendations?
I've traveled the Trent many times in a small 18ft Boiw rider, now looking to upgrade to a larger vessel to make this journey several times.
If anyone has any thoughts, I'd love to hear from you.

Id say if you wanted to be in the boat 24/7 and like not want to moor the min size should be about 24ft with a deep V or bow rider, ibe seen people do it in 16ft tinnies but if you want to make it in a day youd need a fairly large engine depending on size of the boat. Hope i helped I'm no boating expert. Welcome to the forum
